One request, matched to the actual job

How it works

A practical route from request to inspection

The platform helps structure the enquiry and introduce suitable professionals. The selected surveyor remains responsible for agreeing scope, fee and terms with you.

1

Tell us about the yacht

Share the vessel, survey purpose, location, timing and any buyer or registry deadline.

2

We review the scope

We check geography, material, size, specialist needs and whether formal acceptance matters.

3

Receive a suitable introduction

Where available, we connect you with a surveyor whose stated capability fits the assignment.

4

Appoint independently

You compare the scope and terms, resolve conflicts and instruct the professional directly.

Important distinction

Professional membership is not automatic flag approval

For pre-purchase and condition work, competence, experience, insurance and independence are central. For tonnage, registration, coding or statutory work, the flag or accepting organisation may also require a specific appointment.

Check my survey requirement

Credential — membership, qualification or professional designation

Capability — the right vessel, material, size and survey experience

Frequently asked questions

Before you appoint a marine surveyor

What does a pre-purchase yacht survey normally cover?

Scope varies with the vessel and agreement, but commonly includes hull and structure, deck, systems, machinery observations, safety equipment and visible defects. Sea trial, haul-out, engine diagnostics, rig inspection and laboratory tests may be separate services.

How much does a marine survey cost in Spain?

Surveyors usually price around vessel length, material, age, survey scope, location, haul-out logistics and travel. We request those details first so the surveyor can quote the actual assignment rather than advertise a misleading flat fee.

Can you find an English-speaking surveyor?

Yes. Language is included in the matching request. Spain has surveyors serving international buyers, but availability and report language should be confirmed before appointment.

Is a membership certificate the same as flag approval?

No. Professional membership, technical competence and a registry appointment are different things. For statutory, tonnage or registration work, the accepting flag or organisation and the surveyor’s exact authority must be verified for the vessel and task.

Who pays for haul-out and sea trial?

The buyer and seller should agree access and costs in advance. Lift, pressure wash, marina access, sea-trial fuel, skipper attendance and specialist contractors are normally separate from the surveyor’s professional fee.

Are surveyors independent?

The platform is designed to introduce independent professionals. Before appointment, the surveyor should disclose any material broker, yard, seller, insurer or referral relationship and confirm the agreed client and duty of care.

Can you help with other specialist marine survey assignments?

Potential assignments include new-build & refit supervision, repair inspections, sea trials & delivery acceptance, rig & mast inspections, engine diagnostics & oil analysis, ultrasound, moisture & osmosis, accident investigation & expert witness, on-hire, off-hire & handover surveys. Availability depends on the location, vessel and required specialist capability or formal appointment.
